Yo! I'm back, miss me? Haha just kidding only. It's been 2 weeks since I have updated. Anyway back from Beijing, I have really enjoyed myself there really. I thought I will never like to go China again but I was wrong, I will be back there again. China has really changed alot since the last time I have been there which was 9 years ago if I am not wrong. Ok I will state briefing where I have been these 8 days and also 2 coincident things I met.
Day1(Sunday) I reached Beijing, a 6 hours flight from night to day. Firstly, we went to a restaurant to have our breakfast and then we went to a mall which sells all the imitations stuffs. My mum bought thermo clothings as we did not bring enough there. After that, check in to our hotel. It is a 5 stars hotel, really class inside especially the toilet. Haha! The toilet is twice as big as my house master bedroom toilet. No toileties is needed to bring because it has all been provided, even weight indicator is provided too. Haha! It's capital hotel by the way and is the best hotel that I ever stay. At night, had dinner then we went to watch ACROBATIC SHOW and they are really good. Those performers mostly are younger than me, really amazed by their performance.
Day2(Monday) It snowed! I was damn happy and excited, snowed for half a day like that. We went to TIAN AN MEN and then went to GU GONG where the emperor used to stay in Qing dynasty. We get to see all the antiques that they used before. It's really gigantic inside and there are 9999.5 rooms in it. Can you imagine how big is it? If you got lost inside, it will take them 2.5 months to search for you. Haha! I had a really hard time that day. Going to the toilet is also an issue to me. Due to the cold weather, my fingers went numb and I took a long time unbuttoning. There are bridges inside so when we are walking, we have to be very careful. It's really slippery and I almost fall. My period was here and I feel very uncomfortable and I always had this fault alarm that it had overflowed but actually is the cold weather that made my pants cold. The weather was freaking cold, my hands and feets went numb, after that I felt very painful as it was worst than numb. It was so cold that I did not have the mood to appreciate the beautiful scenery. At night, we get to watch SHAO LIN KUNG FU show and that was awesome.
Day3(Tuesday) Early in the morning, we went to TONG REN TANG, bought some chinese medicine from there. After that shopping at WANG FU JING! It is like Singapore's orchard road, shopping malls along the way. I bought a branded top but can share with my mum too. In the afternoon, we went to tour around SHI SHANG LING. It is the place where the emperors' tomb is, both king and queen.
Day4(Wednesday) We went tour GREAT WALL OF CHINA. It is 6400km across mountains and valleys. I get to climb up only on the first level and I went down already. My legs wasn't tired but my ears felt really painful and the higher you go, the colder it is that's why I went down. Climbing up isn't a problem, problem lies when we are going down. It's slippery and high up the mountain, the stairs are uneven too. I almost slip downwhen coming down. Then we proceed to TIAN LONG YUAN HOT SPRING RESORT but sad to say that I couldn't go down because of my period. =( At night, we get to enjoy a performance again. Haha! That wasn't as nice as the previous ones.
Day5 (Thursday) We went back to the shopping mall which sells all imitation stuffs there again to get our thermo clothings again. My mum and me bought their olympic souvenirs and is original, not imitation anymore. Amusement park is the place where I have been looking forward to. We went there and it was boring because the whole place is so gigantic while you only see a few people walking around and taking those rides. My brother and I took a rollar coaster ride and is not exciting at all. I did not even scream. After that we get to enjoy a performance and the planning and designing of the stage is really fantastic, especially when there was this part that leaves a deep impression on me whereby there is a flood going on in that show. They really shows the flood, 3 layers of stage, on the very top, they splash water down and the lowest part will absorb the water. It's as though you really see a flood going on. At night, we took a 4 hours bus ride to CHENG DE, reached there at 11pm. My goodness, it's colder than Beijing.
Day6 (Friday) We tour around IMPERIAL SUMMER RESORT where the Qing Emperors frequently visited it during summer to escape from the summer heat. Next, we proceed to LITTLE POTALA PALACE. These 2 places have really beautiful scenery but due to the cold weather, we did not have the mood to appreciate it already. Cheng De's highest temperature is 0 degree celcius and the lowest can go to about -30 degree celcius. After that we went back to Beijing, another 4 hours journey. When we reached Beijing, we were entitled to legs massaging at a stadium where people who are participating in the olympic next year had their legs massaging there. I didn't know that by massaging your leg, they will know what kind of illness you have. I didn't have my legs massage but my mum and dad do. My mum had some kind of illness so she bought medicine from them.
Day7 (Saturday) After breakfast, visit the DA GUAN YUAN (Grand View Park). I couldn't talk much about this as I have partially forgotten. Depart for TIANJIN by coach, a 2 hours journey. Upon arrival, we visit the FOOD ALLEY and the CULTURAL STREET where you can find more than 100 shops. My parents bought alot of their delicacies for relatives and Chinese New Year. Thereafter, return back to Beijing.
Day8 (Sunday) On the last day, we are free to have our own leisure so my dad, brother and me walked to TIAN AN MEN to take photos again. Due to the previous time when it snowed, the photos taken were unclear. We also went to pay our visit to Mau Ze Dong and then back to hotel. Check out of hotel at 12 noon and procced to the airport. Home Sweet Home!
THE END
On this trip, I get to know some of the people, especially the 3 secondary school teachers. One of them is a discipline master, another is head of school welfare and lastly is PE teacher. The head of school welfare actually know Mrs Fong, they are ex-colleague. On the day that I was coming back to Singapore, when I was on my way to the gate (where the bus will lead us to our plane), I saw Yu Quan (Is it spell in this way? Haha! Anyway he is from the 4N). That is so coincident and I think he took the same flight as me.
Well regarding the food there, I have been eating in the restaurant all the while with sumptious food but there is meat all the time. We had a few different meals everyday and there was a time we had the Emperors meal. That is one of the worst meal we had, we even had deer's meat. People living in Chengde usually overcook their food to have that 'chao da' smell and we had about 2 dishes like that. Yucks! Ohh yah we even had 2 times of steamboat but it wasn't that nice after all.
Toilet wise I would say is quite dirty and smelly, tissue paper is not provided too but I think is much better than the previous time when I went to China. That time, their toilet do not have doors so is like you can see people doing their business.
